Principal of Carmel RC College, Darlington for the past 15 years and current Chair of Darlington’s 14-19 Trust.

Carmel became a specialist Technology College in 1995 and as a High Performing Specialist School has specialisms in Applied Learning and Training School.

Recently appointed as a National Leader of Education with Carmel College being a National Support School.

Active in Raising Achievements and Transforming Learning programme (North East) as Consultant to schools involved in a number of cohorts designed to focus on raising achievement at KS4.

Currently involved with:

• Executive Headteacher programme with the Specialist Schools & Academies Trust
• Serving on the General Advisory Council of the Specialist Schools & Academies Trust
• iNet, as Chair of the England Steering Group
• DCSF Secondary Headteachers Reference Group
• Providing training for aspiring Headteachers with the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle
