Martin Clinton
Principal, Stockton Sixth Form College, representing College Principals and the Stockton 14-19 Local Partnership
Born in Manchester and a life-long Manchester United fan.
Educated De La Salle College Salford, London School of Economics and Manchester University.
Started his teaching career in Stockton in 1977, teaching mainly Economics. Moved to all points North, South East and West over the next 18 years gaining a series of promotions becoming Principal of Woking College Surrey in 1998. Returned to Stockton in January 2003.
15 years as an Examiner rising to Senior Moderator and team Leader at both GCSE and A Level including writing successful syllabuses. Presenter for AQA. Author of articles on Business Studies and a best selling Revision Guide.
As well as an interest in the curriculum very keen on staff development. Worked with Staffordshire University on their schools based Initial Teacher Training. Has championed Industrial Liaison holding posts in several Colleges and been an active member of Education Business Partnerships and Young Enterprise Area Boards.
