Robin Casson

Director of Schools and Family Support for Northumberland County Council, represents Northumberland 14-19 Local Partnership

Robin Casson is Director of Schools and Family Support for Northumberland County Council.  This includes all Northumberland’s schools, Early Years and Childcare, the Youth Service, Adult Learning and Looked After Children.  His appointment to this post in 2005 followed 7 years as Headteacher of Prudhoe Community High School in Northumberland.

He was brought up in the Yorkshire Dales and graduated in Latin and Greek at Leeds University from where he began a career in working with young people as a Teacher, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Adult Tutor, Community Development Worker and Headteacher.

He played rugby for Cumbria at senior level and represented Leeds City Athletics Club at 100 metres.  This summer, he led the team which organised the English Schools’ Track and Field Championships at Gateshead Stadium, the largest event in Europe organised entirely by volunteers.
