14-19 Commission - Mission and Role
Mission
The mission for the 14-19 Commission is to provide a forum through which partners can work at the regional level to add value to local delivery of the 14-19 agenda and ensure that it contributes effectively to the economic and social priorities for the region.

helping young people 14-19 develop the skills and specialisms to participate in a thriving regional economy in North East England.
- ensuring that every young person aged 14-19 is helped to find learning and work that is right for them, particularly those who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging.
Remit
Through the 14-19 Commission partners will:
- Identify shared goals and profiles to address skills and participation for young people 14-19.
- Add value to local delivery by aligning and linking activities with between 14-19 Partnerships, Regional Economic Strategy and Every Child Matters
- Inform and guide investment both from strategic agencies, partners and other organisations supporting 14-19 in the North East
- Commission regional activity to add value to local delivery and support attainment of shared goals and priorities.
- Share information and intelligence to create a regional overview of local and sectoral needs, including linking labour market information to the strategic vision detailed in the RES
- Establish a North East voice on 14-19 issues at the national level
