Not engaged in education, employment and training
The 14-19 Commission sees increasing the number of young people engaged in education, employment and training as one of its key priorities. Hence reducing the overall numbers and proportion of young people not currently engaged in education and training is at the heart of the work of local 14-19 Partnerships.
The following table provides the latest published data about the proportions of young people not engaged in education employment or training across the region.

The figures above are provided by DCSF from the NCCIS reporting system previously updated by Connexions partnerships and now updated by local authorities.
The key measure which the DCSF use to review progress towards the PSA target for 2010 is an average of the figures for November, December and January. Local figures are generally available within local 14-19 Partnerships on a monthly basis.
In most cases, as the table shows, the percentage of young people not engaged in learning has declined across the region, as a result of the concerted efforts of local partnerships.
