REF Key Strategic Actions

In order to achieve the aims of the REF and make a substantial contribution to the aspirations of the Regional Economic Strategy, Partners have identified five key Strategic Actions:

SA1 Implement a framework for co-commissioning and planning of resources and provision at regional and local level.

SA2 Develop and implement strategies to identify and engage those customers who are furthest away from the labour market.

SA3 Develop and implement systems which encourage and reward provider collaboration, to drive customer progression throughout the journey to sustainable employment.

SA4 Develop and implement a streamlined recruitment and support service for employers, to encourage the employment and retention of workless people.

SA5 Influence policy and strategies (at European, national, regional and local level) to support the implementation of the Regional Employability Framework.

These Strategic Actions will form the basis of the REF Implementation Plan which will take the aims of the partnership through to implementation stage.  Delivery of the REF will be a matter for sub/city-regional and local partners to incorporate into their respective policies and strategies
