A key means of understanding the North East economy is by considering businesses and their workforces by industrial sector.
This section of the website contains labour market intelligence (LMI) across the full range of sectors, notably the 25 Sector Skills Councils which account for around 85 per cent of the regional economy. The remaining 15% of the workforce are covered by Sector Skills Bodies and Skills -Third Sector (which represents employers in the voluntary sector).
